Chandigarh is one of my favourite cities in the world. It is situated in the foothills of Shivalik, has a University, many colleges, a postgraduate institute of medical sciences and numerous schools both public and private.
It is a vibrant city with theaters, cinema halls, and a variety of restaurants and coffee shops. It has its own film festival, which attracts both local and international talent.
It is the seat of three governments: Punjab, Haryana and the Union territory of Chandigarh. It is a fairly well run city. It is surrounded on both sides by important cities of Mohali (Punjab) and Pachkula (Haryana) and is also known collectively as the tri- cities. It has its own cricket team and has facilities to hold international sporting events with an international airport.
What I like best about this city is its divers and youthful population. It is big enough to afford multiple types of infrastructure yet small enough to be not over crowded or polluted.
Off course I have many friends in Chandigarh as I went to school (Punjab University) there. I still have many friends and family members that call Chandigarh home. I look forward to visiting it every time I am in India.
